What we keep
We keep the conversation so the business can read what you asked and reply. We also note which page of their site you were on.
Privacy
Porter runs the chat on a business website. This note is for someone using that chat, and for the business that installed it.

Using the chat
We keep the conversation so the business can read what you asked and reply. We also note which page of their site you were on.
You only share a name, email, or phone number if you choose to. We pass those to the business so they can follow up. We do not sell them, and we do not use them to advertise to you.
It answers from that business's own website and the notes they approved. If the answer is not there, it should say so and offer to take your details.
Questions about a chat go to the business whose site you were on. They look after those conversations. Porter provides the chat. The business owns the relationship with you.
Installing the chat
You can read the conversations, so you know what people asked. When someone leaves their details, you get an email with their name, contact, question, and the page they were on.
It uses your website and the notes you approve before it goes live. You should still read a sample of chats after launch and correct anything that is wrong.
Chats stay so you can follow up, then they are removed. The usual time is 90 days. You can set a different time. A visitor cannot clear a chat from the window.
Tell your visitors that the chat is there, and point them to this note or to your own wording. If someone asks about their chat, they will write to you.
